Low carbon asphalt is:
- Low Carbon Mixtures: A type of asphalt specially formulated to emit fewer
carbon dioxide emissions during production and across its lifecycle compared to traditional asphalt. This is achieved using recycled materials, energy-efficient production methods, and innovative low carbon additives that reduce greenhouse warming potential (GWP) or the required manufacturing temperature.
- Long Life Mixtures: Asphalt mixes designed not only to be sustainable from the
get-go but also to contribute to reduced greenhouse gas emissions over time.
By enhancing the longevity of the pavement, the need for frequent replacements
or repairs is diminished, thereby decreasing the overall environmental impact of
