As Regional Sales Director, Michael Scardina assists in meeting the increasing demand for Surface Tech’s platform of products. With nearly 20 years of experience in the asphalt industry, Mike excels in helping customers employ a life-cycle approach to their pavement designs, especially in terms of technical performance, environmental concerns, energy effectiveness and costs.

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Pittsburgh and began his career in banking where he learned the value of managing the financial aspects of any project.

His asphalt industry experience includes 17 years with BG chemical where he established a strong record of building successful relationships with plant and industry customers. He moved from there to Nilex where he gained an in-depth knowledge of the advantages of Fiber Reinforced Asphalt Pavement (FRAP).

His knowledge of FRAP led him to recognize the exceptional value that Surface Tech products offer to customers. Mike is keenly focused on providing his customers the most up-to-date and innovative solutions for their paving projects. His experience includes a wide range of project types, asphalt mixes and FRAP applications in areas ranging from Seattle to Chicago to Albuquerque.
