THIRD PARTY TESTING

Setting the Benchmark for Asphalt Performance

Comprehensive Third-Party Testing Validates Unmatched Durability

At Surface Tech, we are committed to proving the exceptional qualities of our aramid fibers through rigorous third-party testing. Our partnership with leading laboratories ensures that our ACE XP Polymer Fiber® not only meets but exceeds industry standards for asphalt performance.

A Suite of Tests for Uncompromising Quality Assurance

Our aramid fibers have been subjected to a battery of tests to validate their performance enhancements in asphalt applications:

  • The Overlay Tester: Evaluating reflective cracking prevention capabilities.
  • Cantabro Test: Assessing resistance to abrasion and weathering.
  • Disk Shaped Compact Tension (DC(T)): Measuring cracking resistance under tension.
  • Indirect Tensile Test (ID(T)): Determining tensile strength and flexibility.
  • Hamburg Wheel Tracker Test: Testing for rutting and moisture susceptibility.
  • Asphalt Pavement Load Testing (APLT): Analyzing creep behavior and dynamic modulus in real-world conditions.
  • Tensile Strength Ratio (TSR): Ensuring moisture damage resistance.
  • Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) Testing: Examining structural response and moduli of pavement.
  • Chemical Extraction Test: Verifying the purity and quality of our aramid fibers.
  • Aramid Dispersion State Ratio Test (ADSR): Ensuring optimal fiber distribution within the mix.
  • Flow Number and Flexibility Index Testing: Evaluating rutting resistance and fatigue cracking potential.
  • IDEAL CT and Bending Beam Fatigue (BBF) Testing: Determining cracking tolerance and endurance.
  • AMPT Repeated Loading Test: Testing for rutting resistance under repeated loads.
  • Pavement Condition Index (PCI) Studies: Monitoring long-term pavement performance.

Proven Performance Backed by Data

The results from these extensive tests are clear: Surface Tech’s aramid fibers significantly enhance the strength, flexibility, and longevity of asphalt pavements. This is not just a claim; it’s a fact supported by comprehensive data from third-party evaluators.
